Heating - Home Heating Repairs & Maintenance

Inconvenient furnace problems have happened to all of us. Have you noticed that furnace issues tend to have the worst possible timing? Scheduling annual maintenance for your home heating products is a cost effective way of avoiding costly, and unpredictable repairs! Well maintained heating products run more efficiently - it’s that simple!

Make The Most of Product Warranties!

Most home heating products have excellent warranties! That said, taking advantage of them means keeping an eye on their condition. An annual inspection is one way you can do this. Every single home heating product, even the highest quality machines require annual inspections to keep them in tip top condition.

What Does an Annual Furnace Inspection Include?

During an annual furnace inspection our technicians will clean and inspect the blower motor, the wheel, and the housing. Any moving parts will be lubricated to ensure they can move easily. In some cases, the air filters, blower motor, or the belt may need to be replaced. Next, we will check the combustion blower for list or obstructions, and in the case of gas furnaces ensure there are no gas leaks. The evaporator coil, the burner, the heat exchanger, flue, ignition, and condensate lines are all inspected and cleaned as necessary. Next, we make sure that the safety controls, and shutoff and startup mechanisms are all working flawlessly. Lastly, we make sure that the temperature controls are calibrated properly.

Signs Your Furnace Needs To Be Repaired

Even heating equipment that is properly maintained and regularly inspected is going to require repair from time to time. Are you constantly turning up the heat to no avail? Is your furnace emitting sounds and odours that aren’t normal? Is your furnace all of a sudden making loud noises when it used to operate quietly? Have your electric bills unpredictably increased? Is your furnace more than 15 years old? All of these are common signs that your furnace may be in need of repair. The older the machine is, the more attention it is going to require.
